Les Manifestations
About this Collection
Macron, the President of France brought about legislation that would increase the retirement age from 62 to 64. The people of France don't want to work for more years of their life. They want to retire at 62 and enjoy their remaining days following their passions and hobbies. Macron decided that while the majority of the population was against his legislation to pass it anyways using article 49.3.
"Paragraph 3 of Article 49 allows the prime minister, "after deliberation by the Council of Ministers," to force a bill through the Assemblée Nationale with no vote. The only alternative to prevent the bill from passing is then to overthrow the government. "
Featured below are my photographs of a protest which encapsulates the emotions and energy of the people and their anger toward Macron. The French people want Democracy and their voices will be heard.
